Eau de toilette or eau de parfum: understanding concentrations

Behind the labels lies a difference in dosage that changes longevity, sillage and the way a fragrance is worn.

An eau de toilette favours freshness and lightness: wear it generously and refresh it during the day. An eau de parfum, more concentrated, gains depth and staying power. An extrait, the most dosed, is applied in small touches and lives close to the skin.

With the same composition, a higher concentration does not simply smell “stronger”: some facets open up while others fade. Try each concentration on skin before choosing.
